This hiking group was formed to enjoy circular morning walks in the Bookham area. We may occasionally catch a bus or train together to enable a linear walk back to Bookham. Recently we have been arranging car sharing from Bookham to our start points. Walks cover  3 to 6 miles at a reasonable pace.  Recent walks have included :  Effingham, Effingham Common, Bookham Commons, the River Mole, Fetcham Downs, Norbury Park, Ranmore Common  the Polesden Lacey Estate, Sheepleas and West Horsley.

Our average turnout is 12 . We currently have 22 active members.

We walk on the second Wednesday of each month, meeting at various local locations. This allows most members to leave their cars at home. We meet at 9.30am  and generally expect to start at that time.  Members are contacted by email about a week before each walk with an outline of the route and distance.   If there is a cafe en route we will often take a break there. Otherwise members may want to bring their own tea/coffee or snack. We are normally  back in Bookham in good time for lunch.

All hikes will have been previously walked by the member leading the walk. The recce will provide members with an account of the route highlights and often note issues such as stiles, whether there might be a little road walking etc - and  as such  constitutes a risk assessment for all concerned !
